Who We Are & What We Do

Our Mission Statement

Omar Temple’s vision is to uphold the Supreme Mission Statement of making a difference beyond our own personal world, by working together to promote, sponsor and encourage new membership growth and in providing social interaction for the benefit of the children in the Shriners Children's Canada.

Who We Are

Omar Temple No. 111 is one of the many Subordinate Temples comprising the Supreme Temple Daughters of the Nile. We are an international fraternal organization dedicated to supporting the work of the Shriners Children's Canada. We at Omar are particularly focused on the Shriners Children's Canada, located in Montreal.

Members of our organization range in age from 18 to 100 plus and come from a diversified background. Our membership includes professional businesswomen, homemakers and retirees. Lifelong friendships are formed as well as a unique bond among our international fraternity.

What We Do

The word “Omar” means “to live a long life” or “flourishing". Although we are called a Temple, we are not a religious organization or church, but a group of dedicated women working for the special children served by the Shriners Hospitals.

We provide an opportunity for ladies to enjoy social interaction, fun and fellowship while working together to raise funds and provide items to support the Shriners Children's Canada.

Canadian Foundation

Through the Daughters of the Nile Foundation and Canadian Foundation, Daughters the Nile contribute over $2 million dollars annually to Shriners Children's Canada, to be used for the medical care and rehabilitation of children.

Since 1924, Daughters of the Nile have contributed more than $72 million, second only to the Shriners themselves.
